In the uncertainty of the current financial and environmental crisis, BI-SAM is working with organisations that have been selected for their positive impact on both society and the environment. One such organisation is Tree Nation, an organisation dedicated to promoting a greener and more sustainable planet. BI-SAM strongly believes in the work of Tree Nation and encourages all staff to also consider the environment for instance by operating a paperless office where possible.
We are pleased to be contributing to the Tree-Nation Columbian project by planting 100 trees with the following key objectives:
- Fight against climate change, deforestation and desertification of the planet: only 10% of the trees that are cut down worldwide are replanted;
- Guarantee continued habitation for many critically endangered species: 92% of migratory birds from North America land in Columbia;
- Provide social opportunities to the local community: generate jobs and promote sustainable agricultural practices.
Through BI-SAM’s involvement in this project, we wish to promote social and environmental causes to our clients and partners as well as demonstrate that medium size companies can lead some important and necessary change.
BI-SAM is a member of the United Nations Global Compact, a leadership platform for the development, implementation and disclosure of responsible and sustainable corporate policies and practices. Embracing the Global Compact is to share the conviction that commercial practices based on universal equitable principles will contribute to a better and more stable business environment.
